Privacy Policy

Business Receipt Scan ("the app", "we", "us") helps teams capture receipts and submit them as expense evidence. This policy explains what we handle and why. We aim to collect only what the app needs to do its job.

Information We Handle

• Receipt images and parsed data. When you scan a receipt, the image is sent securely to our processing service to extract details (merchant, date, amounts, tax, line items, and the raw text on the receipt). The original image and the extracted data are stored for your workspace as expense evidence.
• Workspace and member details. The workspace name, your display name, your role (manager or team member), and invite codes you create or redeem.
• A device identifier. A random identifier generated on your device is used to secure requests and limit abuse. It is not your Apple ID and is not linked to your real-world identity by us.

Information We Do Not Collect

• No name, email, or password sign-in is required to use the app.
• No GPS location, contacts, calendar, health, biometric, or microphone data.
• No advertising identifiers, and no selling of your data to anyone.

How Receipt Processing Works

Receipt images are processed by AI to read the receipt and return structured fields. The original-language text on the receipt is preserved as evidence. Processing happens on our infrastructure hosted on Cloudflare. Images and parsed records are associated with your workspace so authorized members can view, review, reconcile, and export them.

Where Data Is Stored

Workspace data, receipt records, and audit events are stored in a managed database; original receipt images are stored in object storage. Both are operated for us by Cloudflare and may be processed in data centers outside your country. A copy of receipts you can access is also mirrored locally on your device for offline viewing.

Data Retention

Receipt evidence is retained until it is deleted by an authorized manager or by the team member who submitted it. Deleting a receipt removes the stored record and its original image. Uninstalling the app removes the local copy from your device.

Security

Requests are authenticated and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Workspace access is controlled by a per-member token stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. No security measure is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your Choices and Rights

• You can review and edit a receipt's parsed fields before and after submitting.
• You (or your manager) can delete any receipt you are authorized to manage.

Children's Privacy

The app is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
